Update- Been a while eh?

It’s been a while, but that’s mostly because I’ve been debugging and working on other things, making improvements, getting the server set up,etc.

I’m not 100% with all the features I want to add in, but I do have many of them in place. I’d say about 90% done. I just need to add a few other things. 

Game play is ready to go, but I’m going to add a few more features to that as well such as a few more types of Ninpo and different ranges for Ninpos and Tools.

Things I’ve recently added

Attacking while in stealth mode gives a bonus.

Attacking from behind gives a bonus, both the stealth mode bonus and this bonus stack.

Added new type of tools - Sleep Bombs

Smoke bombs also cause blind status(yes.. everything goes dark.. completely…)

Return tools - Use to instantly return to the spawn point.

Added Vitality Pills- Restore a % of your hp stamina and sometimes energy. How many you can carry is based on rank.

Also added monsters called Tengu. They are spiritual beings that will show up in the game world based on player actions and other conditions in the game world.

Currently there are 3 of them. Peace, Chaos and Creation. These tengu are beasts that must be taken on with more than one person, it’s simply impossible otherwise. They are immune to status ailments, and have various types of attacks. They can also spawn darkness tentacles, which attack a radius around them.

On the plus side, damaging the tentacles will damage the main part of the tengu.

Also considering a simple Teams system but I feel there should be benefits to joining a team other than taking out the Tengu.

Perhaps increased ryo gains or prestige boosts but I’ll work that all out later.

Also need to work on the “what else can i do besides battle?” phase of the game by adding in some mini-games. I’m open to suggestions on that.

Just got a few things to get in place then I’ll make a demo playable , or perhaps host a world and allow people to login and play.

Just finished the touches on the ninpo and tool creation system, which allows players  to create new ninpos, tools and also working on the weapon system.

Minor 1-UPdates

Slowly but surely finishing up the quest system. There are 7 types of quests so far.

Abduction/Assassination/Hunt -Top tier and most money

Spy(Recon)/Sabotage - 2nd Tier

Deliver/Collect- Noob Quests.

A few more things need major work, but in all after that it’s just filling out the gameplay to add overall entertainment value(aside from the player versus player, combat aspect) and I have a few original ideas for that.

Also phase II of the artwork for the game has begun. Backgrounds,etc. So expect to see some maps pretty soon.

Don’t be too harsh, it’s in it’s very early stages.

AI-Basic

So there’s now some basic AI in place that allows mob/npcs to attack the player. This will help with a few things I’ve got planned for the game and also a few more. Very special thanks to Yunus Demil who put together the code for this and also some preliminary code for the Quest System!
